| Approach to Integration |
| ASL's approach to integration starts from a business perspective and progresses to a technology
perspective. We understand that technology must fit the business not vice versa. In today's
process-driven organizations this is the most successful approach to take. This means that
our integration architecture framework is driven by business processes - from simple to complex
spanning multiple departments, divisions, locations and enterprise systems.

| Integration Architecture |
|
Our integration architecture framework is comprised of both synchronous and asynchronous
modes. Using synchronous integration allows us to tie disparate systems together using
techniques and languages such as Application Programming Interfaces or shared databases
and eXtensible Markup Language (XML) and XML Stylesheet Language (XSL). With the use
of asynchronous integration such as messaging technology we can connect both online and
offline systems using adaptable, multi-step, processes that adjust themselves automatically
to business rules. The result is intelligent management of processes and data. Benefits
include the ability to quickly design, deploy, and reuse processes as well as optimizing
and automating multi-step, sophisticated, business processes without the hassle of
software programming.

| Application Mapping |
|
Application mapping allows us to simplify integration by translating, transforming and
validating application vocabularies. It allows us to efficiently manage business rules
for content, formatting and reconciliation and alert process owners and managers when errors
occur so that they can be resolved.

| Benefits |
The benefits of our integration architecture are many and varied. They include:
Data synchronization throughout enterprise systems
Data updates across diverse and disparate systems
Data consolidation into a unified view across the enterprise
Reuse and optimization of time-dependent business processes
Increase of internal and external client satisfaction
